Ok. Everyone has a favorite picture of their bike.  Share it with us here.

I'll start with a picture of my 2004 K1200GT. This one was snapped by a professional photographer while riding on Blood Mountain.

I tried to capture an image of all the BMWs (and a few interlopers) at the GMA.  Here's a link to the album.  Feel free to claim your bike: Georgia Mountain Adventure

Here's the latest addition to the stable. Just picked up a 2006 R1200GS, with a lot of nice upgrades including Jesse bags, Hepco bars, Wilburs suspension, Fastway pegs, and a number of other little farkles. Only 26,000 miles so barely broken in.  Really enjoying the bike so far!

Geoff,

You know that bike is way too clean....

Going to exercise it on one of the dual sport rides at the GMR?

I agree.  The bike is in pristine condition. Was owned by a professor who rode it to Alaska a couple times but  clearly never took it very far off road. I'm guessing "off-road" was the parking lot of a 5-star hotel in Juneau.

I'm getting guards for the oil cooler, potentiometer, and headlight, plus a sidestand foot extender and then I should be good to go for some real offroad riding. Definitely going to take some off-road excursions at the GMR, even though I haven't had an off-road bike in many years. So I will try to stay within my limits but enjoy the roads I can't access with my K-bike. Which is something like 95% of the roads out there!

Nice looking addition, Geoff? Has anybody been riding together lately? I've seen no posts from you, Wolf, Bake, Eric, etc..

Geoff

Hey Jim!

I'll be at the GAMR this weekend which will likely be my first BMW MCOGA group riding since the Black Friday ride last year. I've done a number of solo rides whenever I had a few hours free, but haven't been able to commit a scheduled block of time as needed for group rides.  My weekends have been tied up with both honey-do and work related projects , (which are mostly wrapped up now).  So I should be able to do some more group rides, or at a minimum,  organize a few lunch meet-ups like we had at Toccoa River Restaurant.

Will you be at the GAMR?

I'm in Colorado for a couple of weeks for work...figured I'd rent a bike (Colorado Tourbike Rentals in Aurora) and explore. I haven't ridden here before.

Day 1 was a trip to Mt. Evans and the surrounding areas. Beautiful ride....found a few DS roads as well.

Followed me home from Tampa this past weekend.  2006 ST3s with Ducati Performance Airbox/Exhaust system.  Bought to replace my 1994 R100RT (my 1993 R100R is my "keeper").

Here I am after riding AZ 191 from Springerville, AZ to Three Way, AZ.

Only a gas station, liquor store and an intersection.
AZ 78, AZ 75 and US 191 intersect hence the name 3 Way.
My 2008 R 1200 GSA has so far gotten me through about 80 K since I got her in 02/2013
Here is what she looked like when I bought her last year.

It's not too often that you can have all three of your own bikes sitting in front of TWO to select which one to ride during a 4 day riding trip. Thanks to a visit from two friends from Massachusetts, that is just what happened last June.

One of my friends wrote a story that was published in Backroads magazine about the trip.
Here is a link to the on line magazine, it is page 48 and 49: Backroads Magazine October 2014

2012 R1200GS.  I got it in July 2014 with very low miles and lots of accessories. Bought it from a guy in North Carolina who needed to make space in the garage and usually picked his Multistrada over the GS.  Got the Micatech Pilot cases from a guy in Arkansas who barely used them; they looked new and still smelled new inside.  I've been changing the accessory-setup to suit my preferences, such as some LED lights and re-wiring the existing accessory circuits a little more intelligently than they'd been done by the PO.  The Rick Mayer seat is leftover from my former 2007 GS.

LOVE this bike!

I was cleaning out the garage so it gave me a chance to get the three beast together.  Front the front,  2012 BMW K1600GTL, 2010 Ducati Multistrada and a 2009 BMW F800GS.  There is also a 2004 Corvette in the background.  Now all I need is some time to enjoy any of them.

Great to see you added a GTL to the stable! Looks nice. If any of the other bikes feel neglected, I'll come out and put several hundred miles on them. I'll even ride the Duc for you! :-)

I've put 90,000 miles on my 1150RT that I bought new in '03.
She's currently undergoing surgery (in my garage) to delete the ABS brake system.

Snapped this last weekend while cleaning the garage.  Have to say the S1000 XR is my favorite.  But I don't let the other two know that!

A pic of my mint '06 F650GS taken at an old country store near Old Bucktown Rd., East Ellijay, GA.   Bought her this year in April with only 7K miles and already got  it up to 10K miles.     Loving every minute of it.

Hey guys,

I guess some of you already know that I took Delivery of my new R1200GS Triple Black lowered.  I got it at
Hourglass Cycles in Buford, GA.  They gave me a great deal and went above and beyond to work with me.

Looks nice Don. Now go out and get some mud on it!

Just renewed my membership. Actually joined MOAGA several years ago but didn't get involved as life is ever evolving. Just purchased a new 2016 R1200RT wet head. My first BMW motorcycle and my first wet head  motorcycle. I'm having some accessories added to the bike and will pick-up the bike next week.  My wife - Cathy -  and I look forward to being involved in MOAGA, meeting everyone and riding with the group and individuals.

Welcome Rudy and nice color.  I believe that I was in the shop browsing late Saturday afternoon when you were wrapping up your purchase.  Congratulations!

Welcome Rudy. Nice color. The RT is one of my favorite BMW bikes. Smooth and very powerful with the new engine. You made a great choice.

New member on here, just giving the site a test drive! I am logged in, but unable to create a new forum post other than as a reply, so I hope I am doing this correctly!

I just bought my first BMW, a 2016 S1000XR. I love this bike.  It does have one or two twitches, such as the handlebar vibrations at ~4500rpm, but I dampened the vibration with some bar weights, and foam grips. It's a monster now that the rev limiter is removed. The Moose is Loose, as they say.

I have two other bikes, a KZ Versys 650, and a KTM 250 XCF-W 6 Day. I love the dirt. I also have road and mountain bicycles, play guitar, paddle, and travel abroad whenever I can (39 countries so far).

I am a native Atlantan, born and live between downtown/midtown/buckhead mostly, near Howell Mill/Collier Road within walking distance of i75 exit252B. I have 3 dogs, and have been involved in #petrescue for several years, and founded a popular fan page that helps shelters find rescue groups for death row pets. https://www.facebook.com/seprr

I joined this site to try it out, and perhaps find some folks to ride with, particularly those interested in long adventure rides to Points Uncharted.

If anyone has any advice on where to find group rides, such as a good Meetup.com group, or longer adventure tour rides, let me know.  I would really love to find a Thursday night crew to ride with.

See you soon!
