The club held the April social at the Ate Track bar & grill in Cartersville. The Ate Track is a great restaurant that is themed around 70's and 80's music memorabilia when 8-track players were the rage for music reproduction in Chevy Novas with blue fur on the dashboard and a beer bottle carrier on the drivers roll-up window. (Don't ask me how I know) .
The food is great, and the burger was one of the best I've had in the Atlanta area. Really, really good hand ground sirloin steak with a nice soft bun and mine was topped with Chipotle sauce and jalopenas. Mmmm. If you're in the Cartersville area, or just looking for a blast from the past you have to check this place out.
We had a great turnout and perfect weather to sit outside and catch up with old friends. There wont be a social in May because the GMR is our biggest club social of the year. Members get a $20 discount off the Georgia Mountain Rally, so get out there and register. Even if you register today (April 21) and just come up for the day on Saturday you get pancake breakfast and a steak dinner included with your reduced price admission. This year will definitely be the highest turnout of club members we've had in years based on early registration data. See you there!
