Ride

Coronavirus Hits The Motorcycle World
Author Last Post
Another thing to consider, which has been batted-around in the MOA's Facebook page: whether or not to ride at all right now.

Pro- being on the bike seems like a good way to be 'socially distant.'

Con- if you crash, you'll be landing in a medical system that's tied in knots right now trying to deal with Covid-19.
Thanks for the update, Rudy.
FYI 03-21-2020:  I had planned a weekend ride to Robbinsville, NC the weekend of April 3-4-5. Late yesterday I spoke with management at Deal's Gap and they advised to be on the lookout for a press release from the Graham County Emergency Management Committee (Robbinsville, NC). GCEMC just issued a press release advising the County is closing all hotels, motels, inns, B&B's, lodges, cabin rentals, campgrounds , etc. Hwy-129 & Hwy-28 will be closed to only local traffic. Checkpoints will be set-up to check people attempting to enter the county. Cherohala Skyway will be closed. The Dragon will be closed. Deal's Gap will close.  Effective today ( 03-21-20) at noon/EST, Graham County, NC is on lockdown.
I spoke with staff at TWO-Suches and they said they are open, trying to practice "social distancing" but they were overrun by over 250-bikers this past Saturday, so their "social distancing" protocol became unmanagable. The staff advised they are following Gov. Kemp's instructions and advised everyone follow post TWO-S will make on it's Facebook page regarding on-going operations.
