Mark's September Blue Ridge Camp Weekend
Author Last Post
All solo riding. Had own plans for the weekend but caught up with the club team at camp whenever possible. Images show routes.  GPX routes attached.

Friday left Alpharetta at 11:30 a.m. Lunch and gas top-off in Toccoa. Short pause south of Sapphire to let worst of storm pass by, then ten miles riding in rain gear to keep close to schedule. Topped-off for gas at Frank’s Grocery just before camp. 212 miles and 4½ hours ride time from home.

Saturday on way at 9:30 a.m. for long day of twisties. Did not make the I240/26 merge the first time, so went around Asheville in circles for a while before getting back on track. NC197 after Barnardsville included 4.5 miles of gravel. Gas and short lunch stop in Bakersville. Short pause under shelter at Mt Pleasant Baptist Church just before US19 to let rain shower pass. Onto Marshall, Leicester, Canton and back to camp, topping-off again at Frank’s Grocery. Three miles before camp got caught in rain, so arrived back a little damp. 231 miles and 6¼ hours ride time.

Lazy 10:45 a.m. start Sunday.  All but Paul E left camp before me. Tracked south covering much of the route that Ian F’s club ride had covered on Friday but in reverse. Took route east of Lake Keowee. Quick lunch and final gas stop in Seneca, then I85 towards home. 195 miles and 3¾ hours ride time.

Weekend total 638 miles and 14½ hours ride time.
