The 2018 Georgia Mountain Rally continued our club's tradition for putting on a great 3-day event. The one variable we can't control -the weather- graciously cooperated and provided us with great riding weather and cooler evenings for camping.  Hundreds of riders from points near and far converged on the beautiful fairgrounds site and enjoyed great food, live music entertainment, excellent prizes and the camaraderie that has to be experienced to appreciate. 

The rally planning team,  led by RallyMeister David Will, streamlined the processes from registration through food service and prize giveaways so that guests have more time to engage with others and very little time waiting. David was supported by a number of highly engaged members including Joe Baker, Susan Benson, Ian Scobie and Michelle Quillin who put in a lot of hours behind the scenes planning and executing site setup, food service and entertainment.  Of course, the rally always depends on our member volunteers and we were fortunate to have a lot of folks who stepped up to help when needed including, Bruce Grant, Roy, David, Rudy, Kyle and his crew from Hourglass, Doc, and others I may have missed.  Great job all around! 

As always, the GMR offers a bounty of prizes. This year we gave away a $4,500 tour of Colombia, riding gear from Klim, Schuberth and Olympia, Jesse bags, and nearly 35 other awesome prizes.  For many people it was their first time ever winning a prize at any rally. 

We'll start planning the 2019 Rally soon and members are reminded that one of the great benefits of club membership is discounted pricing on the GMR when you pre-register.
