As Hurricane Approaches, BMW Riders Eat BBQ

Once, again, BMW Riders proved that the threat of natural disasters like hurricane force winds and epic storm surge are not a sufficient excuse to miss out on some great riding and a plate of tasty BBQ. Let's face it, if NASA announced that a large meteorite was on a collision path with the earth, the first thing a Beemer rider would be thinking is "What would be the best twisty route to a BBQ joint for my last meal? " The second thought might be "Will my Klim Suit withstand the heat of the meteorite, or should I wear my Kevlar jeans -just in case I'm the last person on earth?

We did have a great turnout, and welcomed some new members to the club.  Despite some stronger winds, it was a super day to ride.  Thanks again to all the members who were able to join the event. Thanks also to Susan Benson who organized the event and selected a great venue.   We look forward to seeing you all again at another club activity.

As a reminder, we have the Georgia Mountain Adventure coming up Sept 15-17th and as we get closer to the event we expect to see even more signups. With Hurricane Irma weakening and the path heading west of Atlanta, we don't anticipate any major impact to the Suches area. However, if there is an unexpected outcome we will advise registrants promptly.  Usually weather clears up nicely after a hurricane and if there are no downed trees or power lines the event should be another blast.
